During the Vietnam Conflict, he served in the military. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Connecticut National Guard. In addition to his parents, he leaves a sister, Nacy Gelinas of Prospect; several uncles, aunts, cousins, a brother-in-law, Guy Gelinas of Prospect; and his best friend, Francine Nigro of Milldale. The Della Vecchia Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Burial with military honors was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
