link Robert Rand born probably in England about 1622 and died in Lynn, as "Robert Rand, Sr," 8 Nov 1694. He married about 1652 prob as his second wife Elizabeth ______. She died Lynn as "wife of Robert, Sr." 29 Aug 1693. Elizabeth was called "now wife" in a 1663 deed. [Note Robert Rand of Lynn has no known relationship to Robert Rand of Cambridge but the author erroneously connects them as father and son].

link Many secondary sources accept Robert1 Rand of Charlestown as being the father of Robert Rand who was in Lynn, MA by 1649 citing The Essex Genealogist 21:28-35 and Harrison Black, The Ancestry of Frances Maria Goodman (1829-1912), Wife of Leaner Blackman Harrison. This is based on speculation published by Florence Osgood Rand in 1898 regding a 1709 deed where grandson Robert Rand of Lynn is found in connection with descendants of Robert1 Rand of Charlestown. But Robert Rand of Lynn was not mentioned in the will of Robert Rand or Charlestown or his wife's will. He was also not named in the will of his wife's sister Mary Sprague who named her kinsman.
