I'm wondering if these Ramseys were related to Robert Ramsey (who is said to have married Eleanor McCain, b. c1757?, dau of Hugh McCain b. 1729 of Waxhaw, N.C., & Eleanor (Nutt) McCain), and who also is supposed to have married (some say) her sister Jane McCain. Then there was a Mary Ramsey who married Hugh Huey McCain b. 1784, s John S. McCain & wife Mary (Huey), grandson of Old Hugh McCain b. 1729 "of Waxhaw."

There was a Thomas Ramsey who m. Elizabeth McCain b. c1779 Somerset, N.J., dau of John McCain/McKane & wife Elizabeth (Logan), but that probably is just coincidence.
