BIOGRAPHY: A Genealogy of the Potter Family originating in Rhode Island By Rev. Jeremiah Potter Phenix, R. I.: John H. Campbell, Book and Job Printer 1881 - Page 12 Robert Potter, son of Robert and Catherine Potter, married Sarah Ralph, November 8th 1751, daughter of Hugh Ralph, of Scituate. Mr. Potter lived on Burnt Hill, Scituate, and was a farmer. Robert Potter, born about 1730, died in the latter part of 1784, or first of 1785, as I find a will signed by him September 3d, 1784, received for probate February 23d, 1785-Scituate Records, Book 2, Probate Records, page 476. It is not known when his wife died.
