Will of Robert Petteway

In the name of God, Amen
I Robert Peteway of the County of Onslow and State of North Carolina, being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God for it, do this second day of March one thousand eighteen hundred and twenty five do make this my last will and testament, in manner following that is to say:
FIRST: I give unto my beloved wife Rutha Petteway fifty acres of land whereon I now live during her widowhood also one bed and bedstead and furniture one mare and saddle also one horse cart also one chest all my plantation tools also one spinning wheel after giving my four children one cow and calf a piece the residue of my stock of cattle give to my beloved wife also my stock of hogs also all my sheep one loome one table one meale tub also all earthern and peuter ware all my pot iron one rock nitt during her natural life.
I give to my daughter Nancy one cow and calf to her and her heirs forever.
I give to my daughter Susanna Petteway one cow and calf to her and her heirs forever.
Also the residue of my property I leave to be sold to pay all my just debts at the descretion of my executors.
I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Petteway one cow and calf to her and her heirs forever.
ITEM: I give unto my son William Petteway fifty acres of land also my shot gun also one bed and furniture also one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever.
Lastly I make and ordain my worthy friend Eli Cox executor of this my last will and testament acknowledging this only to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said Robert Peteway have set my hand and fixed my seal the day and year above written in the presence of us.
