Facts and Events
The fact that this Robert Patton is the sister of Elizabeth Patton (Mrs. Davey Crockett) is unsubstantiated. This reference is in the William Black Book. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~joanlund/BFRO/JanMar_Nwsltr_1995.html FAMOUS AND INFAMOUS BLACKS IN HISTORY From Sandra P. McDaniel, a PATTON/BLACK researcher, with a family connection to Davy CROCKETT. The connection is more Patton than Black, but the story was so funny, I wanted to include it. Nancy (b. 1789-VA), the youngest daughter of William BLACK and Sarah HICKLIN, married Robert PATTON, whose sister Elizabeth married as her second husband, Davy CROCKETT. She had two children by the previous marriage, and Davy had three. Some years after their marriage, Davy is quoted as saying "Come quick, Bess, your children and my children are beating up our children!"
