Nix, Robert Emmett, 69, Altoona, died yesterday at 9:07 p.m. in a local hospital after an extended illness.

  Survivors; are his wife, mrs Effie McWaters Nix, sister; Mrs. Lyle Gullion, Elba. Several nieces and nephews. Services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at 2nd Baptist Church Altoona with the Rev. J.D. Brown and David Helona Officiating.  Burial in Altoona/Walnut Grove Cemetery. Active Pallbearers; Bobby Nichols, Sammy Nichols, Mike Nichols, Randy Kent, Coswell McWalters, and Dale Foshe. Mr Nix was a natiave and resident of Etowah County most of his life. He was a member of 2nd 

Baptist Church of Altoona and a retired house painter. The body will remain at the residence and lie in state at the church one hour prior to the services.

If this is the same Albert Nix that appears in Gadsden on the 1930 Census there is some conflict with the age.

Notes: He listts his next of kin as his mother. I had belived that his mother and father had seperated but no records. This would indicate that he considered his mother, not his father as his nearest kin, but his father was still alive, he died in 1951. His mother was named Emma (not Emer, but I did not have the middle name Estelle, and still do not know her maiden name. They are not listed in the befor 1900 marriages book .
