Robert and Ruth immigrated to America , where they landed in New York in June of 1855. They settled in Darlington, Wisconsin where Robert's brother, George, had immigrated to in 1853 from Kettlethrope. Later the family moved to Independence, Iowa where they had two more children. The first 8 were born in Darllington. The 1871 Census listed his name as MUTLOW.
