- March 3, 1749 - David KELLY, Brunswick Co., Virginia to Robert MOODY, Amelia Co., Virginia; for 40 pounds current Virginia money; 300 Acres in Granville Co., on N/side Tar River on the W/side of a branch thereof known by the name of Buffiloe (sic), the contents of a patent granted to John POPE of Edgecombe County, NC, dated July 26, 1743, who sold the same 300 Acres to Henry HUNT, then HUNT sold & transferred the land to David KELLY; land bounded and beginning at a Hickory on the N/side of foresaid River, down said River as it meanders Eastward 220 pole to a Black Walnut tree Standing on the said River near the mouth of Buffiloe thence N 25 degrees E 220 pole to a pine, W 220 pole to a Red Oak on foresaid River, thence down River to the first Station. David KELLY. Wit: John THORNTON, Willm. RICHARDSON, Henry HUNT. Proved Granville Co. Court May 29, 1750.
