    Robert "Emerson" Mitchell passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at Huronlea Home for the Aged on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017. He was in his 92nd year.
    Emerson was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis Mitchell (2014) for 65 years and loving dad of Gordon (Julie), Ross Mitchell and Susan Reeves, Doug (Janet) and Neil (Marie). He was grandpa of Doug, Erin and Shawn Walker, Holly, Rob and Tammy, Mandy and Derek Dimaline, Jamie, Sean, Emily, Sarah and Claire and the great-grandpa to Kaden, Jack, James, Kylie, Aiden, Abigail and Lily. Emerson was the brother of Lillian Beer of Hensall.
    Friends and family will be received at Riverside Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 8 for visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Brussels United Church on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Brussels Cemetery.
    As expressions of sympathy, donations to Ronald McDonald House of London or the Brussels Cemetery would be appreciated.
