Services for Robert J. McElmeel, 57, 1815 Adair St., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa, where there will be a flag presentation accorded by the American Legion, Post 6, of Dubuque. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Gene Siegert & Son Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a Christian wake service at 5 p.m. Mr. McElmeel was the maintenance supervisor at Taylor Pharmacy and Medical Associates Clinic for the past 30 years. He was born on Feb. 21, 1938, in Dubuque, son of Howard and Matilda (Besler) McElmeel. He died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 1995, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit. He married Judith Pierrie on Feb. 15, 1958, at St. Raphael's Cathedral. He served with the Air Force from 1956-60. Surviving are his wife, the former Judith Pierrie; a daughter, Jill (Perry) Henkes, of Dubuque; five sons, Scott (Patsy) McElmeel, of Tempe, Ariz., Terry (Tricia) McElmeel, of Dubuque, Tim (Jennifer) McElmeel, of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and Jay (Nickol) McElmeel and Jeff McElmeel, both of Dubuque; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Kendra, Kristin, Katie, Conner, McKenzie, Cody and Mitchell; five sisters, Joan (Tom) Felderman, of Thunderhills, Peosta, Iowa, Diane Corell, of Lorenzo, Calif., Linda (James) Kuhn, of Davenport, Iowa, and Lana (Steve) LuGrain and Shari Braem, both of Dubuque; and three brothers, Thomas (Mary Kay) McElmeel, of Mission Viejo, Calif., Daniel (Barbara) McElmeel, of Valencia, Calif., and Michael McElmeel, of New York. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Robert J. McElmeel Memorial Fund has been established.
