— WINDSOR. Robert Eugene Loomis Jr., of Windsor, Ohio, passed from earthly existence into Heaven on September 22, 2007, at the age of 57, at home, after many courageous years of fighting multiple health problems, lastly being pancreatic cancer.
He was born on June 3, 1950, to Robert and Martha (Smith) Loomis and graduated from Grand Valley High in 1969. He was an active member of Windsor United Methodist Church and a member of Hartsgrove Masonic Lodge 397. He worked for 20 years as a tree trimmer for Nelson Tree Service before obtaining his electrical license from Auburn Career Center and running his own Electrical Company. He was employed by Geauga Hospital until 1999.
He enjoyed his last years doing what he loved most: spending time with family and friends, farming, fishing, gardening and living a simple life with an optimistic view and deep faith in God.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda (Baab), of 25 years; his children, Rob Loomis (Jenn) of Raleigh, N.C., Joseph Loomis of Monroe, N.C., and Cyndi Barrier (Douglas) of Marshville, N.C.; step-children, Dan Schneider of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Holly Hejl (Jason) of Windsor, Ohio, and Eric Schneider (Danielle) of Newport Center, Vt.; and grandchildren, Christopher, Jacob, Brianna, Brandon, Tristan, Alicia, and Mia; his mother, Martha Adams of Chardon, Ohio; brother, Malcolm Loomis of Spring City, Utah; and sister, Suzanne Conley (John) of Canandaigua, N.Y.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at Windsor United Methodist Church.
Funeral service will follow at noon with Pastor James Stanley and Rev. Anthony Barta as celebrants. Interment will follow in Windsor Cemetery.
