Robert Thurston Level, 93, of Columbia passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015, at his home.
Robert was born Jan. 27, 1922, to Aaron and Evangeline
Thurston Level on the family farm in Hinton.
He graduated Hickman High School in 1941 and joined the Air Force to serve his country bravely during World War
II. He then returned to Columbia to become one of the best finish carpenters in the field.
He married Virginia Alieen Reed on Dec. 13, 1980.
He worked as the superintendent of many construction sites all over Columbia for 35 years. Although he retired in January 1987, he continued woodworking up until his last year.
He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening, when he was not busy in his wood shop.
Robert is survived by his two daughters: Doris (Don) Rutherford of Fulton and Betty Level of Columbia; three grandchildren: Robert W. Kamp of Prairie Village, Kan., Billy Ryan Kamp (Angela) of Fulton and Kelly R.
McCarville (Brandt) of Columbia; and nine great-grandchildren: Allison, Andrew and Emily Kribbs; Onyx, Karai and Arnett Kamp; and Makensie, Brogan and Declan
McCarville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five brothers, one sister and one granddaughter, Tracie Kamp Kribbs.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Parker Funeral Service, with burial
afterwards at Red Rock Cemetery in Harrisburg. A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at the funeral home.
