Robert H. Laughner, 90, of Butler passed away Wednesday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Jan. 4, 1925, in Pittsburgh to the late Chervyl L. Laughner.
Mr. Laughner was a graduate of Penn State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal arts.
During World War II, he served 36 months in the U.S. Maritime Service, then served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army as a personnel management specialist for 18 months in Germany.
Mr. Laughner worked as a personnel supervisor at Pullman Standard for 33 years. He also was a salesman for Hotsy Cleaning Systems.
He was a member of the Butler Lodge 272 F&AM, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Lodge Council Chapter Consistery Valley of New Castle, Syria Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Pittsburgh, the Butler Elks Lodge 170, the VFW Post 249 and the American Legion Post 117. Mr. Laughner was a member of the Meridian United Presbyterian Church, where he had previously served as an elder.
Mr. Laughner is survived by one son, Randall H. Laughner and his wife, Karen, of Renfrew; and two granddaughters, Christine N. and Karly M. Laughner.
