• cos1776 Analysis: 1840 Montgomery County census shows the family of William Hodge with 11 members, including one Male - 1 thru 14 who could be Robert Hodge. This appears to be the only Hodge family listed in Montgomery County.

THEORY C = T D Adge/Hodge and Unknown. Status: Unlikely.

• cos1776 Analysis: 1840 Bath County census shows the family of TD Adge/Hodge located West of Slate Creek with 17 members (6 Whites/11 slaves). TD Adge is aged 30-39 with one likely son aged 0-5, so this son seems to be too young to be a match to Robert Hodge. It may be a relation, however, as subsequent census records show the family of Robert Hodge in this area of Menifee county by 1870.
