    I ROBERT HALL of the Co of Halifax & State of NC etc.

    Item-I give & bequeath the whole of my estate both real & personal to my wife, WILLS HALL,
    my son WILLIAM PLEASANT HALL & to my daughter JUDITH BAILEY HALL, to be equally divided between them.

    Item- It is my will that in case both of said children should die before they attain lawful age or marry, then I give the use & profits of the whole of my estate to my beloved wife WILLS for & during her natural life (provided she remains my widow) viz. unmarried, and after her death should it so happen that both of my children should die, before they attain lawful age or marry, then I give the whole of my estate to be equally divided between my brothers, SAMUEL HALL & THOMAS HALL.

    Item-I do hereby nominate constitute & appoint THOMAS HALL Guardian to my said two children to attend, to their morals & education & the management of their estates, under this will & lastly I do appoint my beloved wife WILLS HALL Executrix & my brother THOMAS HALL & my friend Richard H. Long, executors to this my last will & testament, and as I expect my brother Thomas will be at considerable trouble & inconvenience in the management of my estate, I do give & bequeath to him my shop furniture, medicine & instruments in addition to whatever the high full court of said county may think proper to allow him.

    ... JUDITH BAILEY HALL, was a native of Halifax, NC (born at the time Halifax was the seat of government of that state). She was the daughter of DR. ROBERT HALL, a surgeon in the Revolutionary army, whose grandfather, coming from the island of Bermuda to the United States, was one of the colonists of Fleur de Hundred, a settlement on the lower James River. He married a Quakeress, MARTHA PLEASANTS, of Philadephia, a member of the family to which ex-Governor Pleasants of Virginia belonged. His son, WILLIAM HALL, married SUSANNA POYTHRESS, and through this marriage, become connected with Richard Bland of Revolutionary fame, whose daughter was the mother of John Randolph of Roanoke, A sister of WILLIAM HALL (PATSY) married Mr. Waller, an eminent lawyer of Williamsburg. ...
