Harriet Sidney Gilkison d. 1884 at Dunedin, widow of Robt Gilkison of Glasgow Town Council, and magistrate of the city. Harriet was 3rd dau of the poet James Hogg, the “Ettrick shepherd”, and was named after his patroness, Duchess of Buccleugh. She was survived by 9 pf her family (NZ newspaper). Robert's death was registered 1880 (NZ bmd). Janetta Webb Gilkison was b. 23apr1865, Glasgow, daughter of Robert Gilkison (1820-1879, reg 1880 NZ) and Harriett Sidney Hogg (18dec1827, Yarrow, Selkirk (IGI)-1884 NZ), who married 1jun1855 at Linlithgow (IGI). Robert Gilkison and family arrived at NZ from Glasgow in 1879 (web).
