SARANAC -- Robert C. Fisher, 67, of Route 3, Saranac, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at the CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in Leighton, Pa., July 12, 1940, the son of Clayton and Laura (Lauchmore) Fisher.
Bob retired from the U.S. Air Force in December of 1986, following 24 years of loyal service to his country. Following retirement, he worked for Bill Santa Pontiac in Plattsburgh and later Broderick's, also of Plattsburgh. He lastly, for 12 years, owned and operated Saranac Valley Enterprises in Saranac. Bob was a member of the Saranac American Legion Post 1618. He enjoyed bowling, bird watching and fishing, but especially enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid Rusty Wallace fan.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Joyce K. (Bird) Fisher, whom he married April 3, 1965, in GT. Yarmouth, England; one son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Maryellen Fisher of Middletown Spring, Vt.; one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Thomas Wimett of Lewis; two grandchildren, Connor and Sierra; and a cousin, Louise Ench and her husband Bob of Avondale, Pa.
He was predeceased by his parents.
