Obituary

From the Xenia newspaper, 29 March 1906 Dr. Robert S. Finley, for many years a resident of Greene county and a promient physcian of Xenia, died last Thursday night at his home on East Main street after a long illness of heart trouble and other complications. His condition had been critical for the last 10 weeks. Dr. Finley was 79 years of age. He was born in Adams county on 15 January 1827 and after the death of his father, when the boy was 13 years of age, he removed with his mother to Greene county. He graduated from the Electic College in Cincinnati in 1850 and the following May he was married to Miss Huldah Hagler who died in 1852. Later he married Miss laura Carpenter, who survives him. All of their married life of over fifty years was spent by the couple in Xenia. Herman Finley, an engineer on the Pennsylvania railroad, the only son of Dr. and Mrs. Finley, made his home with his parents. The Reverend J.H. Andrew of New York is a step-brother of the decedent. The funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon at 2 o?clock.
