Robert "Bob" Crumrine, age 92, of New London, died peacefully Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, in the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, New London.
He was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Nova, Ohio, son of Forest Glen and Sarah Marie (Crittenden) Crumrine. Bob was a 1938 graduate of Nova High School.
He lived in New London since the early1940's. He was a carpenter who worked for Reynolds Lumber Yard and then Jennings and Churella Construction Co. until his retirement in 1985. Bob was a 50-year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 744, and a member of the New London United Methodist Church.
Bob delivered for Meals on Wheels and food baskets for the Salvation Army. In 1993, he was named New London Citizen of the Year. He enjoyed swimming and ice skating.
He is survived by his sons, Mark (Mary) Crumrine of Milan, and Scott Crumrine of New London; and granddaughter, Kristi Crumrine.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Josephine Crumrine in 1997; brothers, Donald and Dane Crumrine; and sister, Frances Robertson.
Friends may call 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the funeral home, with his nephew Rev. Toby Thomas and Rev. Ben Black officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London.
