A brief history of R. F. Conkey family is included in Goodspeed's 1882 book: "County of Williams, Ohio", p.811. It notes that they lived and farmed in Medina County, Ohio intil 1869 when they moved to Williams County, Ohio, settling on the land his then deceased father owned in Northwest Township. In 1882 the R.F. Conkey's owned 140 acres, of which 90 were improved. He was a member of the IOOF.
