LENEXA - Robert M. Collins, 82, formerly of rural Fredonia, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, at his home in Lenexa.
He was born Nov. 18, 1918, in rural Fredonia, the son of Claude and Hattie Opal Cook Collins.
He was a farmer.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Fredonia, and the Benedict Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. #403.
In February, 1941, he married Thelma Scott in Fredonia. She died Feb. 18, 2001.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Nelson, Lenexa, and Linda Barth, Shawnee; two brothers, Rex Collins, Topeka, and Willard Collins, Fredonia; two sisters, Edna Benest, Burlington, and Rena Clinesmith, Fredonia; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Collins, and an infant sister.
Graveside services with Masonic Rites will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the Fredonia City Cemetery led by the Rev. Carl Ellis of the First United Methodist Church, Neodesha.
The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Kansas City Hospice and may be left with the funeral home.
Timmons Funeral Home, Fredonia, is in charge of arrangements.
