Information on Robert Clifton

A Sussex Co. court document of March 1684 states "Robert Clifton as marrying Sarah the relict and administratrix of Captain John Avery". Robert Clifton was a prominent and wealthy resident of Sussex County. He held an appointment as a justice of the peace for Sussex Co. in 1686, and was appointed a member of the Governor's Council in 1695.
