Robert and Edna were Married at the University of Chicago Thorndike Hilton Chapel in Chicago, IL Robert Brown EUREKA - Robert Curtis Brown, 81, of 809 S. Main St. died at 5:30 A.M. Tuesday, June 27, 1945, at Eureka Community Hospital. Born Nov. 20, 1913, in Hammond, Ind., to Dan and Grace Curtis Brown, he married Edna Marie Waddington on Nov. 25. 1937, in Chicago. She died March 24, 1984. Surviving are three daughters Mrs. Harold (Carol) Anderson of Eureka Marsha Emerson of Denver and Laurel Brown of Kiowa, Colo. He graduated as a mechanical engineer from Purdue University in 1935. He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 40 years, retiring as director of Research-Technical Facilities in Mossvllle. He was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. Involved in scouting and the Sea Scouts in his youth, he later was Eureka's Troop 57 Scoutmaster from 1942 to 1960. He served 18 years on the Board of Trustees at Eureka College. Private services will be at Eureka Christian Church at 10:30 A.M. Saturday. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Olio Cemetery in Eureka. Memorial services were held at Eureka Christian Church. Otto-Argo Funeral Home in Eureka was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Edna Mary Brown Art Scholarship Fund at Eureka College.
