"83 In memory of the Revd Robert Breck, AM the Pastor of the Church of Christ in this Place, who died on the 23rd day of April A.D. 1784, in the 71st year of his age and in the 49th year of his ministry; this monument is erected by his affectionate and grateful parishioners (in addition to that in their breasts) to perpetuate the remembrance of his singular worth and long-continued and faithful labors among them in the service of their souls."

Mr. Robert Breck, Pastor of the first Church here, in the 71st year of his age; and yesterday in the afternoon his remains were decently interred; when a large and respectable concourse of people, both of the clergy and laity from this and the neighboring towns attended the solemnity, to pay their respects to the memory of this worthy minister, and to his bereaved family and flock. … a very suitable sermon was preached by the Rev. Mr. Lathrop, of West-Springfield. …"
4 May 1784, Tuesday The Rev. Robert Breck, son of the Rev. Mr. Breck of Marlborough was educated at Harvard-College, the first honors of which he received in the year 1730, being then in the 17th year of his age. … He married Mrs. Eunice Brewer, a daughter of his worthy predecessor, with whom he lived … till August 1767 when she was removed from him by death. By her he had four children, three of whom survive him, two sons. … and a daughter the amiable consort of the Rev. Josiah Whitney of Pomfret. In the year 1773 he married Mrs. Helena Dorr relict of the Rev. Edward Dorr, of Hartford, and daughter of the Hon. Governor Talcott. …"
