    Robert, b. May 8, 1706; admitted a freeman Feb., 1729-30. By his father's will he received all the real estate; was to have one half of it at twenty-one years of age, the other half when his mother should die or marry. T. Barber states that Robert settled in East Greenwich, had seven children, was there in 1774.

    - Feb. 1, 1729/30 Robert Babcock to Joseph Stanton, Esq., 120 Acres bounded: John Dodge, land formerly belonging to Wm Rathbun, Joseph Crandall, land formerly belonged to Wm Hardy decd., Capt. Benj. Ellery, all ye lands yt? was Robert Babcock, ye father to this present Robert Babcock. Witnesses: Roger Elderton and Jos. Sheffield. [Westerly Deeds Vol. 5, p. 151-2]
