Robert Glen Andis was born at Tarkio, MO, the son of Dr. and Mrs. S. R. Andis. He grew to manhood and attended school at Tarkio, graduating from high school in 1904. He also attended Tarkio College and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in that city. In 1906 he homesteaded northeast of Presho. He was married to Selma Annetta Moe, March 23, 1918 at Oacoma. To this union three children were born. Mr. Andis resided here continuously with the exception of one year, when as a partner in the C. Ha. West Land Co. he located homesteaders in the Lusk, Wyoming area. From 1913 until 1920 he was a partner in the Hubbard and Andis Implement Co., and in 1923 he received the appointment as Postmaster at Presho. After leaving the post office in 1934, Mr. and Mrs. Andis opened the Gamble store in Presho which he was operating at the time of his death. Recently he was awarded a diamond lapel pin for his 25 years as a Gamble store owner. Mr. Andis also had farming interests in the community for many years He has served the community of Presho as a member of the city council, the volunteer fire department, and the board of education. He was the first secretary of the Preshokiya Club and acted in many other capacities during his lifetime. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Jessie Andis Davenport. Survivors include his wife, two daughters Lois Bakewell and Ruth Laughtland, one son Dr. Clark Andis; six grandchildren, and one sister Hollis De Lash.
