Rita Harlan Smith was born on March 6, 1936 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Hargus and Eunice (Brass) Harlan. She graduated from the Iowa Falls High School in 1954. Rita was united in marriage to Jack Smith on May 10, 1958. Rita had been a Laundry Aide at a nursing home and health care facility. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, baking, and camping. Rita is survived by her son, Jim and his wife, Velma of Boone; a daughter, Valerie Gray and her husband, John of Yukon, OK; two granddaughters, Jessica Kimmel and her husband, Jerry and Kristen Gray; great-grandson, Travis Kimmel; great-granddaughter, Kayla Kimmel; and three sisters, Katie Weiss, Rosemary Bailey, and Mikki Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; and two sisters, Phyllis and Ellen.
