Rick (64) passed away November 5, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born in Phoenix to Troy and Patricia (Tignor) on January 18, 1953. He graduated from Alhambra High School then attended college at NAU. Rick was drafted, but decided that he would enlist in the Marines. After he completed his tour, he returned to Arizona where soon after met his wife and months later had his only child Joshua.

Rick worked in dairy, bakery, spent time warehousing, and ultimately worked as a trucker for over 20 years. Rick was an accomplished trumpet player. He played for his high school and college bands. He once played his trumpet with the Phoenix Symphony and was a member of the Marine Corp West Coast Band while he served in the Marines.

However, Rick's greatest love was his son, Joshua. Rick's life was dedicated to his son. He worked nights so he could be with his son in the evenings to be his soccer coach, and scout master. He was selfless in ensuring Joshua had all he wanted growing up even going as far as to do without new work shoes or clothes, just so his boy had what he needed. They loved camping together and to go out and "kill some cans and paper targets."

Rick leaves behind his only son Joshua; his daughter in law Sarah; three grandchildren Elizabeth, Luke and Nicholas; his two sisters Karen and Lynda; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Joshua said that Rick was, "the best dad and most patient man a boy could ask for.... for an old salty Marine... and he was kind, gentle and loving."
