There is no such son named Richard in the 1627 will of Thomas Wheeler, the Elder of Cranfield. (The will was published in the July 1937 TAG article "The Father of the Concord Wheelers" by Donald Lines Jacobus).
This Richard bp. 13 Jun 1614 was specifically called son of Thomas Wheeler of Town End by Cranfield parish records, and should not be confused with the Richard baptized on 5 Dec 1613 [1] called son of Richard Wheeler junior.

Richard Wheeler (Thomas) was probably born in Cranfield Bedfordshire England in 1611. Working with previous compiled Wheeler genealogies and the Parish Registers of Cranfield, Bedfordshire, verifying, correcting, and, where necessary, reconstructing Wheeler families, argues that Thomas Wheeler of Town End is the most likely father of Richard Wheeler of Dedham and Lancaster, Massachusetts.
- Although not conclusively disproven, this appears to be an unlikely parentage for Richard.
