Godmanchester, Huntingdonshire, Parish Register gives the marriage of Richard to Frances Inkersol. There might have been another influence which took Richard to Godmanchester and eventually to Little Gidding. In Dedham, Essex Records an entry has been found that one John Ferrar, Clerke in Holy Orders, had rented a place from Steven Upcher in 1595. This John Ferrar was proably connected with the Little Gidding family of Ferrars and could have influenced Richard to join them.
