According to the obit of his grand-daughter, Cordelia Pride Risley, he was the first white man to erect his log cabin at the present site of Otwell, in Pike County, Indiana. The cabin was evidently made from logs felled at the clearing where the Dr. D.W. Bell residence stood (or still stands?).
