    Richard Putenham of Edlesborough appears in records from 1387-8 to 1400-01. In 1390, Robert Putenham was surety for Richard Putenham of Edlesborough. Moriarity believes that Robert was the lord of Puttenham, co. Herts., and the brother of Richard Putenham.

    In his tentative pedigree (pages 13-14), Moriarity placed him as the possible father of the John Putenham of Edlesborough who witnessed a charter in 1422.
