BIOGRAPHY: Genealogical Dictionary of Rhode Island Austin page 330 - 331 Feb 15, 1717 He (called Richard Knight, son of John, deceased),bought of John Blackmar, son and heir of James Blackmar, certain land. Oct 1719 He (son of Ann Knight) was complained of to Assembly with others for abusing Capt. Thomas Harris on training day in execution of his office. Authority was given to the deputy Governor and Colonel and Major of Regiment on Main land to examine into affairs &c. Mar 11, 1724 He and wife Deliverance sold Moses Bowditch 15 acres for £10. July 6, 1774 He deeded his eldest son John, 30 acres for £250 (this son was called John Jr., to distinguish him from his uncle John) He held the title of Captain for some years, 1754 Administration to son John Knight, Jr., the estate being resigned to him by his brother Richard Knight, 3d, who had been guardian of their father, the deceased Captain Richard Knight, he having been delirious sometime before his departure. The amount due from the guardian to administrator was £414 10s. Oct 3, 1756 Will-proved 1758, June 5. Widow Deliverance Knight, of Cranston. Ex. son Richard Knight, Jr., to son John, 10s. To son David, a kettle and pot. To son Thomas, a bed &c. To granddaughter Elizabeth Dyer. my red cloak. To three daughters Anne Edwards,?
