    In the Name of God Amen, I Richard Kenner of Westmoreland County in Virg'a being very sick & weak in body but of perfect sense & memory, thanks be to god for it, and calling to mind the uncertainty of this transitory life do make this my last will & Testament in manner & form following. First I bequeath my soul to God that gave it me and my body to the earth in certain and sure hopes of a joyful resurrection at the last day. Item-I give and bequeath to my loving son Winder Kenner all my land & plantation where I now live extending from the land where Mr. William Chandler Chandler now lives with a mile into the wood for breadth to Harkness branch to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs to the next heirs surviving. Item-my will & desire is my sd. son have and enjoy my sd lands before bequeathed him when he comes to the age of One and twenty years old and till then to remain in the hands of his Mother. Item-I give and bequeath to my loving son Richard Kenner all my lands & plantation from Harkness branch including the plantation where William Martin now lives on extending a mile into the woods for breadth and including that part of land I bought of my brother John Kenner as by a deed & a line of marked trees may appear to him and his heirs lawfully begotten and for want of such issue my will & desire is that it come to my loving son Rodham Kenner and his heirs of his body law-fully begotten. Item-my will & desire is my sd son Richard Kenner have and enjoy the forementioned lands & premises when he attains to the age of twenty One years and till then to be & remain in the hands of his mother. Item- I give & bequeath to my loving son Rodham Kenner all that part of my land I bought last of my brother John Kenner being the remainder part of my sd land I bought of my brother Jno. Kenner Extending from the land before bequeathed my son Richard to the end of my land to him, his heirs lawfully begotten of his body only that part where my brother John Kenner now lives on my will & desire is my said brother have during his natural life and after his decease to come to my son Rodham as aforesd and for want of issue to the next heir so surviving. Item- my will & desire is my said son have and enjoy the foresaid land & premises when he comes to the age of twenty One years old and till then to remain in the hands of his mother. Item- I give to my loving wife Elizabeth Kenner and her heirs & assigns forever all that tract and parcel of land I bought of Francis Atwell lying on the south side of Machodick river and near the head thereof. Item- my will & desire is my loving wife have all the rest of estate both real & personal during her widowhood or if she doth not marry then during her natural life. Item- my will & desire is my mother in law Eliza Winder have a plentiful living out of my sd estate suitable to the quantity & quality of my sd estate during her widowhood or if she doth not marry then during her natural life. also my wi11 & desire is thatIf my wife Eliza Kenner should marry or decease this life without marrying then all my estate given her for life or day of marriage be immediately taken out of her hands by Extrs hereafter mentioned and equally divided between my three sons and two daughters Winder Kenner, Elisa Kenner, Richard Kenner, Rodham Kenner & Frances Kenner to them their heirs forever but if any of my fore-said children decease this life before my sd wife marry or decease this life or till they come to their respective ages before which is bequeathed her for life or till she marry may be equally divided between the rest of my sd children so surviving. Lastly I do appoint my good friend Maj. Henry Ashton and John Ambrey Extrs in trust of this my last and Testament -in witness whereof I have set my hand & fixed my Seale 17th day of November 1718.

    At a Court held for the sd County the 27th day of May 1719 the last will & Testament of Richard Kenner dec'd was presented into Court by Elixa his relict who made Oath thereto and being proved at March Court last by the Oaths of Matthew Jackson & Wm. Rice two of the witnesses thereto is sd will to record and for that Henry gentl and John Ambrey Extrs nominated therein refused to take the burden of the execusun thereof upon themselves. At the instance of the sd Elizabeth and her performing what is usual in such Cases Certificate is granted her for Obtaining letters of of admission with the will annexed upon the estate of the sd Richard Kenner on due form.
