Trainmaster for Milwaukee RR After graduation from Custer County High School in 1933, Richard attended Rocky Mountain Polytechnical Institute in Billings for two years where he suported himself by working as the personal secretary to the college president. He was awarded this job because he had learned typing and shorthand in high school. He began work with the Milwaukee Railraod in 1935. By 1951 he had been promoted to trainmaster, a position which required moving about once per year. Richard died of a coronary thrombosis on a dance floor in Deer Lodge.
