RICHARD CARRICK HOWARD was born on October 9, 1802 in Lebanon, Wilson County, Tennessee. He later moved to Missouri.

Richard died on February 1, 1835 in Moniteau County, Missouri. He is buried in Allee Cemetery, Moniteau County, Missouri.

  2. RICHARD CARRICK HOWARD

    Richard Carrick Howard was born 9 Oct 1802 in Lebanon, Wilson County, TN of French and Indian descent (Vincel Alley family story). He may have been named for a poplar Presbyterian minister in Knox County, TN, Samuel Carrick. He married Charity Allee on 1 Apr 1825 in Cooper County, MO by Charity's sister Ann's husband, Kemp Scott, Minister of the Gospel, possibly at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Charity was b 10 Jul 1804 in Barren County, KY, daughter of Rev. David and Charity Delia (Bybee) Allee (Moniteau Co. History 1980, pg 94).

    Carrick "was a native of Kentucky who came to Moniteau County in the 1820's." He and Charity probably lived in one of the identical houses built by Rev. David Allee for ten of his children northeast of Clarksburg, near the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Rev. David Allee died in January 1835, then Carrick on 1 Feb 1835 (pg 94 noted above).

    Carrick and Charity's children were, "POLLY" Mary Ann, Richard Ralph "R.R.", William "Bill", and David H. who were listed as his heirs in Carrick's mother Sarah's 1852 estate records. Two other children were Hampton (Hamilton?) who died in the 1840's and Charles G. b 27 Mar 1834 and d 25 Jul 1848. Carrick, Charity and Charles G. are buried in the old Allee cemetery.

    Ri«u»chard Ralph Howard «/u»was b 2 Oct 1827. His first wife was Nancy M. Wilson 26 Oct 1834 NC - 26 Mar 1871 MO, daughter of Joseph and Mary Dearing Wilson. Three of their children died young. George d 2 Mar 1868 nine days old, Mary d 1 Mar 1870 at 6 ½ years, and an infant 24 Jan 1871 before Nancy died in March. All are buried in the Howard/Walnut Grove Cemetery.

    Richard Ralph Howard's second wife, Cordelia Stephens (15 Oct 1835 - 12 Aug 1918) was the daughter of Jeff D. Stephens, an early Cooper County pioneer. "R.R." was a school teacher, Justice of the Peace, and County Assessor for two terms in the 1860's. He enlisted in the Mexican War and in the Union Army in the Civil War. Son Charles was b 23 Oct 1874 and died in a few days. Son Joseph Jefferson died 29 Jan 1890 at the age of 10 ½ Son Richard R. (Jr.) b Nov 1876 and d 22 March 1895. They are buried in the Allee Cemetery along with R.R. (Sr.) who d 20 Apr 1895.

    R.R. (Sr.)'s son, Benjamin Franklin "B.F.", was b 15 Dec 1872 and married Nellie Lavina Parkes on 2 Dec 1903, daughter of W.G. and Jemima Ratcliffe Parkes. B.F. attended the Warrensburg Normal School, taught several years, then farmed. He was elected county clerk in 1914 on the Republican ticket and re-elected in 1918.     «u»William "Bill" Howard«/u» b 2 May 1830 married his cousin, Elizabeth Allee, daughter of William Allee and Annie Nellie Rowlan/Rolin Holt Hill.

    John B, married Sally Scott; he eventually went blind. Mary married Ben Hess, then Halbert Toler. Martha married William Toler. Nicholas T. b 1852 married Elizabeth Catherine Wood. Nancy Louisa b 9 Mar 1854 - 31 March 1919 married Alvin Presley "Press" Moore. James V. b 3 Nov 1863 - 16 May 1885 was born blind. Charity L. b 23 July 1866 - d 29 Sep 1892 was born blind. Laura B. d 7 Sep 1869 - 22 Sep 1875. The youngest three children are buried in Allee Cemetery along with their father William "Bill" who died 21 Sep 1904.

    Nicholas T. Howard married Elizabeth Catherina Wood, daughter of William and Julia Ann (Bowlin) Wood. Their children: Charles "Charlie" married Mona McDaniel, Nancy S. married Frank A. Herfurth, Wilson died at age 16 buried Allee Cemetery, Lulu May married Robert Lee Eldridge, Effie Amelia married Wm. Henry Hauetter. Eugene Munroe (1886 - 1944) married Mary "Mollie" Elizabeth Wood b 17 June 1885 - d 16 Jan 1975, daughter of Davis and Mattie Hornbeck Wood. Father Nicholas T. d 1922 and is buried in the Allee Cemetery.

    Children of Eugene and Mary "Mollie" Elizabeth (Wood) Howard are Jessie Floyd 1909 - 1970, Alma Lorean b 1910, Ruth Amelia Howard (Elliot) b1916, Thomas Jefferson b 1917, Mattie Elizabeth b 19119, and Cecil Monroe b 1923.

    Cecil Monroe Howard married Marna Marie Melton. Their children are Randal Douglas b 1956. and Mary Allyn b 1959. Cecil and Marna live in Californa, MO and kindly provided the above information for the descendants of Richard Carrick Howard.
