Haverhill, before 22 January 1782 when an inventory was taken of his estate (Essex County Probate, File #12460). … Richard Harriman was a blacksmith at Haverhill. Harriette Eliza Noyes in her Memorial of the Town of Hampstead. New Hampshire. ([Boston, MA: 1899], 19, hereafter History of Hampstead, NH) included a list of landowner's assessment rates dated 1764 on which appears "Heirs of Richard" following other Harrimans. This has been interpreted to refer to Richard Harriman, the son of Matthew2. Richard was very much alive and residing in Haverhill when he made his will on 10 August 1772. It was probated on 5 February 1782 (Essex County Probate, File #12460). [Wife] Sarah probably predeceased him as she was not named in his will. In addition to his son Joel, who was appointed Executor, Richard named his daughters Mary Harriman and Abigail, wife of William Eastman.
