GOWER, Richard G. Richard George Gower, 64, of East Hartland beloved husband to Dorothy (Gauthier) Gower passed away suddenly Monday, (October 16, 2006) at his home. Born in Westfield, MA son of the late George and Vera (Godard) Gower. He lived in East Hartland most of his life. Richard graduated from Northwestern Regional #7 High School and attended the University of Connecticut and served in the U.S. Army. Before retiring he was a skilled carpenter and woodworker and cabinet maker. He attended the First Church in Hartland, Congregational. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Mark and his wife, Yvonne Gower of East Hartland. He was a wonderful grandfather and leaves ; three beloved grandsons, Brandon Gower, Mark Gower, Jr. and Matthew Gower; a brother, Gene P. Gower; a sister, Eileen and her husband, Linwood Mufatti all of East Hartland; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Nadine Rocheleau. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby with the Rev. Kurt Satherlie officiating. Burial will be private in East Hartland Cemetery. His family will receive friends Thursday prior to the service from 9:30 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
