In the name of God: I Richard Davenport of Tyrrell County Planter being very sick and week in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to Almighty God therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die I do make this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend to the executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by Mighty power of God to bless me in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form,
Item- I give and bequeath to my eldest son John Davenport one hundred and twenty five acres of land which is already layed out by a line of marked tree for him and one iron pott.
Item- I leave and I give to my son Jacob Davenport the use of the Manner plantation in which I live with the land belonging thereto containing one hundred twenty five acres during his natural life and after his decease I give and bequeath to his son Benjamin Davenport his heirs and assigns forever the afforesaid lands.
Item- I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Mchabees heir one shilling and four pence sterling.
Item- I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Davis one shilling and four pence sterling.
Item- I give and bequeath to my daughter Anna Davis one shilling and four pence sterling.
Item- I give and bequeath to my daughter Susannah Caswell one shilling and four pence sterling.
Item- I give and bequeath to my daughter Rebekah Long one shilling and four pence sterling.
Item- I give and bequeath to my son Jacob Davenport one shilling and four pence sterling.
Item- I give and bequeath to John Davenport son Ezra Davenport one cow big with calf.
Item- I give and bequeath to Jacob Davenports daughter Sarah Davenport one bed and furniture and one cow and yearling.
Item- I give and bequeath to Jacob Davenports son Benjamin Devenport one bed and furniture and one cow and calf.
Item- I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife all the rest of my household goods and chattells wherever to be found during her life and after her decease if any be left to be equally divided between my two grand children Benjamin Davenport and Sarah Devenport.
Lastly I do make constitute and ordain my son John Davenport and John Davis to be whole and sole execators to this my last Will and Testament whom I do appoint and I do hereby revoke and make void disannul and disalow all former will or wills by me made and this only to be my last will and Testament as Witness my hand and seal this the twenty second day of November one thousand seven hundred and seventy & three.
