About Richard Dalby
Some researchers believe that Richard Dalby (Dalbey) came to America from France, and his name may have been spelled "D'Alby", but other researchers have disputed this claiming that the Dalbey's more possibly (as handed down through some family members) came from Wales and that there are no records to support the theory that they were from France.
Richard Dalby (according to some) also had an earlier marriage to an Ann Williams in 1750, and his second wife was supposedly Susannah Harris. There are few records to conclusively tie his possible/probable children from his first marriage, especially to an Abel Dalby, whose parentage is under extensive discussion on several genealogical sites, including the following:
