    Richard Copps, of Weston, was brought up in custody of police-constable Dixon, charged with having on the preceding night stolen a piece of timber the property of Mr. Farr, of Weston.

    Trial for the above offence found him not guilty - the real perpetrator was a John Gundell and Richard Copps was only working for Gundell driving his horse and cart which happened to have the stolen timber in it. Richard's age given as 18.
