    CHICHESTER, Richard. Will 14 April 1734. Rec. 12 June 1734.
    Nephew Chichester Chinn, son of Rawleigh Chinn; Priscilla Reeves, dau. of Amie Palmer, decd. Cousin Thos. Ware, son of Thomas and Eleanor Ware, to youngest dau. of him if such be found. She is to be heard of at Silverton at Mr. Ware's house at Dunnex, Silverton Town, 5 miles out of the city of Exton or at Lilliston in the parish of North Curry 4 miles out of Tanton in Sumersetshire.

    CHICHESTER: Deposition dated 8 Apl. 1743, Rec. 8 Apl. 1743. of Henry Carter, aged 67 years; that he is well acquainted with Richard Chichester of the county of Lancaster and knew his father Mr. John Chichester and his mother Mrs. Chichester, and was intimately acquainted with Richard Chichester, Esq., father of sd John Chichester and grandfather of sd Richard Chichester, and that the sd. John Chichester came into this county to his father Richard Chichester Esqr. and that sometime after the foresd. Mrs. Chichester and her son Richard Chichester came in the ship Brimton, of Weymouth, Giles Russell, Master, and that the sd. Richard was then a child but what age he was he knows not; that he lived here some years with his father and mother, and then his mother and he returned to England and lived for some years there; and that after the death of his mother he came back to Virginia to his grandfather, Richard Chichester, Esq., and the sd Mrs. Chichester, during her stay here had no other child or children.

    Deposition of Joseph Carter (made and recorded same date as above) aged about 54 years:
    That he was well acquainted with Richard Chichester, who was Collector of Rappahannock River for many years, and there came a certain gentleman to Virginia, named John Chichester, which the sd. Richard acknowledged as his son, and after the sd John had lived some time in Virginia a gentlewoman came to him from England named Elizabeth Chichester, whom the sd. John Chichester received and acknowledged to be his wife and the aforesaid Richard received & acknowledged to be his son's wife. Sd. Elizabeth brought with her a son, very young, about 4 or 5 years of age, who was called Richard Chichester and who was acknowledged as Child of John Chichester and grandson of Richard. After some years the sd Elizabeth was desirous to go home to England and carried her son Richard. John became ill with gout and very weak and wrote his wife in England, directed to Mrs. Eliza Chichester, Dorset. John Chichester then died and according to his will his father Richard Chichester administered on the estate. Sd. Richard wrote a letter to his son's wife's friends in England to send her son to Virginia as soon as possible and the letter was directed to Mr. Chiliot Symes, brother of Mrs. Eliza. Chichester. Sd. Richard son of John returned to America and lived with his grandfather Richard Chichester untl his death in May 1734.
