Obituary

 Stevensville - Richard Burns, 81, of Stevensville died Dec. 29, 1999, at the Whitcomb Tower, St. Joseph.
 Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at Stevensville United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, at Kerley & Starks funeral Home, St. Joseph.  Burial will be in Lincoln Township Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the church.
 Mr. Burns was born Aug. 31, 1918, in Stevensville.  He was a graphic artist.  Much of his work was used by Kellogg and Post Cereals.  He was a member of Stevensville United Methodist Church; a charter member of SW Michigan Car Collectors; and a member of St. Joseph Elks Lodge 541.
 He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific.
 Survivors include: his wife, M. Ellen (Strouse) Burns, whom he married on Oct. 17 1947; two sons--Ted Katzbach of St. Joseph and John (Catherine) Burns of Petaluma, Calif.; grandsons-Ricky and Tom Burns of Petaluma and Jeff Katzbach of Memphis, Tenn.
 A sister, Marie Schulz, preceded him in death the same day, Dec. 29, 1999.
