The author of the Hamlin rootsweb charts says the source for Alexander was "Lineage Book National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Volume LXIV. 63001-64000. 1907. Washington, D.C.: Press of Judd & Detweiler, Inc., 1923."

From the Van Benschoten book, pg 193: "Richard Alexander Bryant was the son of Amos J. and Harriet (Hamlin) Bryant. He descends from a Thomas Bryan of Aylesbury, England, whose son Alexander Bryan, baptized there Sep. 29, 1602, early migrated to the Connecticut Plantation where he became a prominent merchant at Milford, "and with his son Richard stood in such high credit at Boston that his note of hand passed current as bank bills in the present day".
