    He was mainly raised by his maternal gr-aunt & uncle, Margarete Catherine Auxter & Charles Leroy Shoemaker. After graduation from Clay High School in 1961, Dick served in the US Army from 1961-1964 where he was mainly stationed in Guatemala repairing aircraft and helicopters. Afterwards he worked as a surveyor and construction worker. In his later years he maintained apartment complexes. Dick was also a friend of Bill W. for over 30 years. He loved everything to do with history and read Tom Clancy Novels. His favorite sports teams were the Ohio Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Indians.
