This is Dad's Gaga Dad says Rhody was the best man ever to walk the earth. He says Rhody had cancer and wouldn't let people visit him for fear of giving them the cancer. Dad says he pleaded with Rhody to let him come visit but to no avail. Dad says he wrote him several times and that every Christmas he would send Rhody 10 dollars. Obit Syracuse Herald Journal - July 20, 1963 Rhody t. Tyan, 72, of 3703 S. Salina St; a retired employee of Chappell's department store died in the Veterans Administration Hospital Thursday. Mr. Ryan was a native Syracusan and a World War I veteran. He was a communicant of St. Peter's Church and a member of the Holy Name Society. Surviving are two sisters, Miss Josephine and Miss Agnes Ryan of Syracuse. Services will be at the John G. Butler funeral Home at 8:15 am Monday. A solemn high Mass of requiem will be offered St. Peter's Church at 9 am. Burial will be in Sta. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm today and from 2 -4 and 7 to 9 pm tomorrow.
