The Lusk Herald December 15, 1966 Last Rites Held for Reuben Reece Reuben Beary Reece, oldest son of Belle and F. B. Reece was born in Macon, County, Missouri, August 15, 1887. He resided in Missouri until a young man. In 1914 he moved to Sioux County, Nebr., where he engaged in farming and ranching until his illness. In June of 1922 he married Frances Kreman and three sons were born; Richard of Ainsworth, Nebr., Frank of McMinnville, Ore., and Jim of Crawford, Nebr. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Beulah Hughson, and a brother, Guy. After a lingering illness he died at the Crawford Community Hospital November 29, at the age of 79. He leaves his wife Frances, three sons, two sisters, Nona Willford of Graceland, Fla., and Elizabeth Kruse of Monroe, Iowa, two brothers, Ovid and Mervil of Crawford, and seven grandchildren. Services were held at the Methodist Church in Crawford on December 2 with the Rev. Leon Foster officiating. Burial was in the Glen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Fred Hamaker, Tug Pullen, Alvin Ware, Harry Blair, Harry Popkay and Ivol Buckley.
[Note: Although the obituary mis-identifies Reuben's place of birth as Macon County, Missouri, it does place him in Macon County until after the death of his first wife, consistent with the 1910 Census.]
