Buried in unmarked grave in Center Ridge Cemetery per account in Tippah County MS History Book. Article By Virginia Peck.
Note: A headstone was set in 2007 for Reuben in Center Ridge Cemetery, Conway Co., AR
In the book "Arkansas Confederates in the Western Theater" by James Willis, it describes how Reuben came to be captured after the Battle of Nashville. The Army of Tennessee (of which many Arkansas units were part, including the 9th AR Infantry) was retreating south near Columbia. The army was crossing the flooded Duck River at night to avoid the Union troops that were pursuing. In the dark, cold rain and confusion, Reuben, and possibly a few others, were still on the north side of the river when the pontoon bridge was cut loose. He was left to be shot and captured by the pursuing Union troops!
