Notes He was a major in the War of 1812. He fought in the Battle of New Orleans under Gen. Andrew Jackson.

On Oct. 20, 1814, Gov. Shelby issued a call for men for the New Orleans campaign. 3 regiments of KY Detached Militia were brought in. One was Mitchusson's Regiment organized Nov. 10, 1814, and commanded by Lieutenat-Colonel William Mitchusson of Caldwell Co., KY who resigned and was succeeded by Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Parker. The Majors were Reuben Harrison and Thomas Crenshaw. The regiment had 10 companies with a total strength of 746 officers and enlisted. These troops were commanded by Major-General John Thomas with Brigadier General John Adair as his Adjutant General.

Maj. Harrison's battalion had 305 men. They were armed with their own weapons and those supplied them by the residents of New Orleans (due to not reserving armws from the government due to incompetence).

Harrison was also a major in the 6th Regiment Ky militia organized Sept. 1, 1812 under Lieutenant-Colonel Philip Barbour along with Major William R. McGary.

His Will signed Sep 20, 1838, and proved April 27, 1840 named as legatees, his wife Sarah and children and grandchildren: Grandson Webber & Wallace no last name. Robert Harrison brother , was named executor. Opposition was noted by Elbert V. Harrison, son-in-law, and Lawrence Bryant. Elbert V. Harrison was a son of Colonel Benj Harrison.
